Residential Complex Jesenského
The site on Jesenského Street is more than just a gap waiting to be filled out…We deliberately did not propose a form that aligns its volumes with the existing street line. We are exploring the concept in a wider context. Due to its location, this project has the potential to become a clear part of an important urban trajectory. The object becomes a clear part of the street corner. We aim to design an attractor- a proposal that appeals to invite you in, to explore the street. However, its architectural language remains clean and bland to the extent of blending in and not competing with a traditional functionalist corner house. The calm, architecture actively engages with its surroundings and the given street boundary. The proposal is split into three shorter sequences, respecting the rhythm and scale of our neighboring buildings.Public functions located on the ground floor naturally gain relevance as they do not only face the street but are directly centered towards the small square with the character of a Piazzetta. The plaza encourages the visitor to go further. To pass through the buildings and explore beyond the façade. The back garden enriches the square with playful greenery, loose activities, and new, not yet defined, possibilities.
